Mechanical Engineer
Converting Systems Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time Mechanical Designer with experience in industrial machinery design. This key individual reports directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

- Create new and revise existing mechanical part and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
- Configure parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Inspect incoming mechanical parts and weldments.
- Create and maintain parts manuals for Converting Systems Inc. machinery.
- Input parts and assemblies into the COUNTERPART ERP system in support of CSI-Parts.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create new and revise existing mechanical part and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
- Configure parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Inspect incoming mechanical parts and weldments.
- Create and maintain parts manuals for Converting Systems Inc. machinery.
- Input parts and assemblies into the COUNTERPART ERP system in support of CSI-Parts.
- Design mechanical parts and assemblies for new products.
- Ensure project timelines are met and that projects stay within budget.
- Conceptualize and implement quality, safe, and value-added improvements to existing machinery.
- Inspect incoming mechanical parts using measurement tools such as calipers, thread gauges, and micrometers.
- Prepare Bills of Material for new and existing machinery.
- Assist in the reverse engineering of parts and machines.
- Assist machine builders in troubleshooting assembly issues.
Required Proficiencies:
- Proper use of SolidWorks to create mechanical parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Proper use of SolidWorks PDM or equivalent PDM system.
- Proper use of engineering measurement tools such as calipers, thread gauges, and micrometers.
- Firm understanding of dimensional tolerances and fits between mating parts.
- Firm understanding of materials commonly used in industrial machinery such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, brass, and Delrin.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and create mechanical designs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Highly detail oriented.
- A strong focus on personal accountability and the ability to work effectively in teams.
Required Credentials:
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Design Technology or related field.
- One or more years of experience working in SolidWorks.
- One or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (machine manufacturing preferred).
- Live within 30 miles of Schaumburg, IL (preferred).

Electrical Controls Engineer
CSI has an immediate opening for a full-time, Controls Engineer with PLC/HMI experience in Blown Film, Converting, Web Handling or Printing Industries. This key individual reports directly to the Engineering Manager and works closely with the mechanical engineering team and mechanical assemblers.

CSI has an immediate opening for a full-time, Controls Engineer with PLC/HMI experience in Blown Film, Converting, Web Handling or Printing Industries. This key individual reports directly to the Engineering Manager and works closely with the mechanical engineering team and mechanical assemblers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Engineering Team in determining all controls, electrical, and electronic system designs, as they relate to our equipment platforms. Emphasis placed on the continuing improvement of existing systems.
- Generating and/or updating electrical schematics and panel layouts for each project using AutoCAD 2-D.
- Developing and programming various PLC and HMI units – Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLCs, Rexroth motion control systems, Exor electronics and EZ Automation HMIs.
- Developing "specialty" control systems, whether AC/DC drive based, Servo System based, or PLC based. Our current platforms include Rockwell Logix 500, Logix 5000, DirectSoft, Unitronics and J Mobile.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and debugging problems in automated systems. These tasks will require some hands-on skills.
- Generating accurate B.O.M.s for each project, with which purchasing and procurement can order necessary items.
- Assisting the Sales department in generating quotes requiring "specialty" control systems.
- Ensuring the people that work with you (production floor personnel) have the necessary tools, supplies, parts, and system information, to ensure their productivity and ability to complete projects on time.
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Technical Degree supplemented with related experience
- 2-6 years related experience
- PLC programming/Servo Motion Control experience
- Experience with Allen-Bradley, ABB, Rexroth, Exor or equivalent
- Experience in Blown Film, Web Handling, Converting or Printing Industries
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2-D
- Results-oriented and innovative
- Good verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with deadlines
- Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills
- Prefer candidate who lives within 30 miles of Schaumburg, IL

Machinist
CSI has an immediate opening for a full-time Machinist with Prototrak Mill and Lathe experience in Blown Film, Converting, Web Handling or Printing Industries. This key individual reports directly to the Quality Assurance Director and works closely with our Parts Division and the engineering team.

CSI has an immediate opening for a full-time Machinist with Prototrak Mill and Lathe experience in Blown Film, Converting, Web Handling or Printing Industries. This key individual reports directly to the Quality Assurance Director and works closely with our Parts Division and the engineering team.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Organizing, scheduling, and manufacturing of various machine parts.
- Managing all items and supplies necessary for machine shop operations based on available budgets. This will also include machine tools and those necessary tooling components.
- Design and fabrication of specialty and custom machinery for special projects. These special projects are often driven by direct customer request for new processes. This individual will be required to work directly with engineering and sales in this role.
